Valentine's Day

Matty and I had quite an interesting Valentines Day. We woke up to the end of an ice storm that dumped about a half inch of ice and left us powerless. As the day wore on, our apartment got colder, but we did lots of cuddling to stay warm.

Matty got some great gifts from Al so she played with them for a while, and even shared them with her best friend at our apartment complex, Lilo. They had a blast together :)

Overnight, my apartment got down to roughly ~40 degrees. Matty and I hid under the covers and were able to stay comfortable somehow in the freezing cold. Our power finally came back on around noon on the 15th and the apartment warmed up quickly. I was soooo happy to finally get to take a shower, and get clean & warm!

More snow equals a terrified puppy...

We got about another 4ish inches of snow today. Some of my neighbors had some fun and built a huge snowman. However, when Matty discovered it she was not so impressed. She was barking up a storm and trying to run for her life. I walked her around it for several minutes and she eventually got to the point that she could walk by it, but I don't think she ever appreciated it :) Poor girl...

Congrats, Ann & Teddy :)

We had a baby shower for Ann last week -- she got tons of great gifts and we all a had a great time :) I had to slip out a bit early for some puppy training, but it was nice to be able to stop by.

Destruction...

When I was out skiing, Matty went a little crazy and chewed up my aparment! Ugh! I got home to shredded papers everywhere and chewed up furniture, etc. She had been doing perfectly for about 2 weeks beforehand, so I'm not sure what got into her. We are trying a new method of phasing out the crate so hopefully we'll do better next time!

SKIING!!!

A few of us played hookie Friday and hit the slopes at Whitetail. It was my first time skiing ever, and I LOVED it! I didn't fall until I tried a blue slope, on which I had several tumbles...but thanks to some good lessons from my buddy, Damon, I got back up and tried it again and did much better my second time down :) I can't wait to go back again!!! Here are some pics from the adventure:

SNOW!

Snowflakes:)
Matty got her first taste of snow this week! We only got a dusting, but it was enough for her to notice :) At first she seemed intrigued and was sniffing around in it...

But soon she became quite cold, so we headed back inside, bundled her in her sweatshirt, and let her warm up...

What a cutie:)

North Carolina

Sorry for the delay in posts! I hope to get back in the swing of things soon.

Matty and I took a trip down to North Carolina recently to help Granny through some surgery. Matty brought lots of love -- sometimes a bit too much, or a surprise attack, but I think Granny enjoyed having her there :)
Matty also got lots of bonding time with her Uncle M -- Matty LOVES her Uncle M! She followed him around everywhere, and couldn't wait to wake him every morning with an attack of kisses:)
However, Matty did not seem to enjoy all of her time in NC. She decided to be terrified of golf carts, and since Mom's house is right on the golf course, there were several that would drive by every day. Matty would bark a bit and then run and hide at the top of the stairs...We'll have to work on that one some more.
